Anritsu Corp. has released its New Radio RF conformance test system for 5G sub-6 GHz (FR1) TRx testing. The ME7873NR Lite Model 5G RF test system supports FR1 TRx test cases at a lower cost, while offering a flexible upgrade path.
“5G conformance tests take longer because 5G NR supports flexible numerology with a wide range of frequencies and scheduling for diverse services, which requires a large number of test cases,” said Anritsu. As a result, engineers face challenges in meeting deadlines and obtaining fast certification.
One solution is purchasing a new conformance test system, said Anritsu, but it requires a large additional investment.
Anritsu has solved the problem with a ‘lite’ version of its conventional ME7873NR, which consists of multiple test instruments. FR1 is now supported by the ME7873NR Lite Model, an all-in-one-tester, which is configured using only one MT8000A radio communication test station, reducing test times by about 20% compared to the conventional rack models, according to Anritsu. The ME7873NR Lite also can conduct other measurements, including automated regression tests, to support device verification.
The streamlined configuration provides an upgrade path to a full ME7873NR model for more comprehensive conformance test cases. It also offers an upgrade path for customers who already own the MT8000A, Anritsu said.
The Lite Model and conventional ME7873NR model support a frequency range of 450 MHz to 6 GHz and 450 MHz to 7.125 GHz, respectively. The Lite version uses the same user interface as the conventional tester for ease of use.
