5G WiFi SoC for enterprise enables fastest on-the-go gigabit connectivity

The BCM43460 is offered as the world's first 5G WiFi SoC designed to address growing demand for Gigabit speeds in enterprise, wireless cloud networks and carrier access. Based on the new IEEE 802.11ac standard, this 2.4/5 GHz MAC/PHY/Radio SoC is claimed 3x faster and 6x more power efficient than previous generation 802.11n solutions and is interoperable with legacy 802.11 technologies.

Features include three-stream spatial multiplexing up to 1.3 Gbit/s data rate, support for 20, 40, and 80 MHz channels with 256 QAM modulation, and support for STBC and LDPC, in both tx and rx for increased wireless coverage.
