6 x 6-mm power inductor offers highest current rating

Enables smaller dc/dc converters for LCD and plasma TVs, and other flat-panel displays

Designed for dc/dc converter choke-coil applications in LCD and plasma TVs, as well as other flat-panel displays, the 6 x 6 x 4.5-mm NR6045T-100M wirewound power inductor is rated to 3.0 A at 10 µH — presented as the industry’s highest rated current in the 6 x 6-mm footprint. With the equivalent performance of larger 7 to 10-mm2 devices, the inductor facilitates smaller dc/dc converters and thinner-profile product designs.

The inductor’s design is achieved by improvements to traditional round drum/sleeve core technology. A unique sleeveless, square-core winding was developed for the NR series inductors that eliminates wasted space and thickened the lead wire inside the inductor to achieve the lowest possible DCR.
