The BMR466 60-A digital point-of-load (PoL) dc/dc power module suits power microprocessors, FPGAs, ASICs, and other digital ICs, targeting ICT, telecom, and industrial applications. Up to eight of the modules can be connected in parallel to deliver up to 480 A in multi-module and multi-phase systems. The LGA-packaged device measures 98 x 0.55 x 0.276 in. In multi-module systems, two or more of the single-phase converters can be synchronized with an external clock to enable phase spreading.
The PoL module features a power density of 395 A/in.3 with a size that is typically half of that of designs using discrete components. Operating from a 4.5- to 14-V input, the BMR466 is suited for operation across a range of intermediate bus voltages and complies with the Dynamic Bus Voltage scheme. The module is suited for deployment in distributed power and intermediate bus voltage architectures for use in products such as networking and telecommunications equipment, servers and data storage applications, and industrial equipment. An adaptive-compensation software program offers a PWM control loop and advanced energy-optimization algorithms to reduce energy consumption.
