8-bit ADCs deliver best-in-class power, noise performance
Suited for battery-powered instruments, handheld scope meters, and digital oscilloscopes, the AD9284 is offered as the industry’s first dual 8-bit 250-Msample/s A/D converter, while the AD9286 8-bit 500-Msample/s A/D converter delivers 8-bit resolution at 40% less power (310 mW at 500 Msamples/s) than competitive components. The converters feature high SNR of 49.3 dBFS and allow for a wide dynamic signal range with SFDR performance of 65 dBc.
In addition, the AD9286 features on-chip interleaved clocking and on-chip reference and track-and-hold, while the AD9284 consumes 155 mW per channel at 250 Msamples/s. Both offer single 1.8-V supply operation and are housed in 48-lead LFCSP packages. (Ea/1,000: AD9286, $36; AD9284, $24 — available now.)
