8-bit I/O expander features 1-µA standby
The CAT9534 8-bit general-purpose I/O expander for I2 C and SMBus-based systems is fully compatible with the CAT9554 IC, but has 100 times lower standby current, aligning it with battery-powered applications. With its 1-µA max standby current, the chip offers an easy solution to add I/Os for LEDs, control buttons, fans, and sensors,
Each I/O is 5-V input-tolerant, with a sink/source of up to 25/10 mA and compatibility with logic thresholds of 2.5, 3.3, and 5 V. The chip operates at 40° to 85°C and comes in SOIC16, TSSOP16, and 4 x 4 TQFN16 packages. ($0.83 ea/10,000 — available now.)
