8-bit MCU delivers on price/performance

The 8-bit MC9S08SE8/4 microcontroller provides excellent performance and 2.7 to 5.5-V operation in a 28-pin package. The chip has a clock speed of up to 40 MHz, third-generation flash memory and RAM, flexible clock options, and multiple serial communication options.

It operates in the industrial or military temperature range, and has a 10-channel 10-bit A/D converter plus a real-time counter. It needs 6.42 mA max at 10 MHz/3.0 V and 1.3 µA in stop mode. (From $0.85 ea/10,000 — available now.)
