The QHS1000 is an 802.11a/b/g/n dual 4 x 4 or quad 2 x 2 MIMO networking chipset for home and enterprise operation at up to 1 Gbit/s. The two-chip set includes eight RF transceivers and associated power amplifiers, LNAs and Tx/Rx switches, baluns, and diplexers, as well as transmit beamforming. The chipset features concurrent dual-band operation at 2.4 and 5 GHz, and its advanced architecture includes vector mesh routing.
The chipset has a dual ARM-based network processor with DSP hardware assist to manage multiple simultaneous 802.11a/b/ connections. and provides higher-layer security functions such as IPSec and VPN. The QHS600 and QHS450 are single-chip versions with 600/450-Mbit link speeds and single 4 x 4 or dual 2 x 2 configurations. (From $20 ea/high volume — samples available now.)
