The Dark Web, also referred to as the Deep Web or Dark Net, is a part of the Internet that is largely inaccessible to users who aren’t equipped with special anonymizing software.
Per a report published earlier in the year, some of the most popular sites of this online black market include fraud sites, mail services, and sites that deal exclusively with the difficult-to-track virtual currency, Bitcoin.
To put it simply, no matter what you’re interested in, that is, however weird it might seem, or however specific the service is you’re looking to order, you can find it on the Dark Web.
“It’s amazing how creative people are,” says Rurik Bradbury, CMO of Trsutev, a fraud protection startup that helps customers from getting ripped off by constantly monitoring the Dark Web for things like stolen customer information.
Per Business Insider, here are some of the weirder, and certainly immoral, things you can get on this side of the Internet:
#1: Purchase newly acquired social security numbers — Specify if you'd like for it to come with a credit score rating above 750.
#2: Buy a batch of 100 credit cards for $17 — Users can never be sure if a credit card number has truly been cancelled, and with an average limit of $3,500 per credit card, a $17 investment could be worth up to $350,000.
#3: 3D-print anything — Some suggestions include guns, others offer ATM card skimmers, and more.
#4: Get a lifetime Netflix account for $1 —the lifetime account is setup using a stolen credit card, but the user pays just a buck for the service of having the account set up on their behalf, thereby avoiding having to go the route of buying a stolen credit card.
#5: Pay for PowerBall drawings with Bitcoin — Referred to as “BitBall”, this service uses real-life PowerBall drawings, but you don’t have to pay taxes if and when you win.
#6: Purchase a realistic-looking silicone mask — What you use it for is entirely up to you.
#7: Fake coupons for your preferred groceries — Tell them what you want to buy, and they’ll create a fake coupon that matches your local supermarket store.
#8: Buy “cloned” credit cards — Information is retrieved via card skimmers. The site promises safe shipping: “These cards are legit and safe to receive. Using them is another thing . . .”
#9: Get a fake degree from an Ivy League school — No explanation needed.
