Thin LCD module has 640 x 480 resolution
Targeted at point-of-sale and medical equipment manufacturers, the EG9011
LCD module is 9 mm thick and has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The
black and white display uses formulated TN technology to eliminate the
need for a thick double layer. The display face has an upper and lower
display segment, each 640 x 240 dots. This reduces the drive ratio to
1:240 and allows the display to reach a contrast ratio of 13:1. This is
enhanced by an antiglare surface. The EG9011 has a dot pitch of 0.30 x
0.30 mm and overall dimensions of 259.5 (H) x 169 (W) x 9 (D) mm. To
reduce power consumption, the module uses a 4-bit parallel shift-register
data-transfer method. This is augmented by a bus line system for data
input that activates the input terminal of each driver only when relevant
data is fed to the driver. The display uses a 5-mA CCFL edge light. ($298
