Optical sensor has in-line amplifier

The EESPW-321/421 is part of a line of miniature, pre-wired optical
sensors with remote, in-line amplifiers for versatility in tight spaces.
The through-beam type sensor has a 30-cm sensing distance and is designed
for high-speed object detection in industrial applications. The miniature
emitting and receiving elements measure 12 (H) x 6 (W) x 11 (D), and the
amplifier measures 12 (H) x 50 (W) x 7.5 (D). The EESPW-321/421 is
available in dark-on or light-on versions with a response time of 1 ms.
Four light beam apertures allow for custom beam sizes–the minimum
detectable object size being 2 mm. The device requires 12 to 24 Vdc, and
the internal amplification circuitry provides a 100-mA output current to
connect directly to programmable controllers. The sensors have an IEC IP64
protection rating and a standard operating temperature range of -20
degrees to 55 degreesC. ($110–stock to 5 weeks.) Omron Electronics, Inc.
