Controller can monitor up to 2,048 I/O points
The MicroDAC series of industrial controllers can be configured to handle
up to 32 single-point I/O modules in any combination of analog and
digital. As many as 64 controllers can be serially networked to a host
computer. This gives a distributed-control system with up to 2,048 points.
The units can be placed up to 5,000 ft apart and are connected via
RS-422/485 lines. Optomux ASCII messages are exchanged between the host
and MicroDACs at speeds up to 115.2 kbaud. User programs and data can be
stored in the 64 Kbytes of flash EPROM memory and 64 Kbytes of
battery-backed RAM provided. C programs and relevant flow diagrams can be
developed on the PC and downloaded to the unit. An SBX port allows for
interfacing to third-party plug-in boards. ($600 to $850–4 to 8 weeks
