Resistors hit new low in resistance value

Two monolithic thick-film surface-mount chip resistors, the 1-W LR2512
and the 0.5-W LR2010 provide resistance values as low as 0.025 and 0.040
ohms, respectively. Designated the LRC series, these resistors are
provided in EIA standard 2512 and 2010 flat chip sizes. These are the
lowest resistance values available for a flat surface-mount device. The
LRC Series' low resistance and low inductance make the resistors well
suited for current-sensing, voltage-division, and pulse applications in
power supplies and automotive systems. The 1-W LR2512 is available in
resistance values from 1.0 Ω down to 0.025 Ω, and the 1/2-W
LR2010 in values from 1.0 Ω down to 0.040 Ω. Both types are
available in tolerances to 1%, with temperature coefficients from 150 ppm/
degreesC (above 0.075 Ω) to 600 ppm/ degreesC (below 0.045 Ω).
Both types are rated for operation from -65 degrees to 150 degreesC. (From
$0.25 to $0.29 ea/50,000 typical–available now.) IRC, Inc., Corpus
