Software speeds mixed-signal design

SHADO is a mixed-signal design tool integrating the company's HISIM logic
simulation software and ANACAD's ELDO analog simulator. ELDO uses a
combination of Spicelike second-generation analog equation-solving
methods–that is, Newton Raphson iteration techniques–and
third-generation algorithms such as One-Step Relaxation. SHADO accepts
input of fully hierarchic netlists with arbitrary mixing of analog and
digital elements. The software automatically splits the netlist and
inserts the appropriate interface components for the digital technology
being used. SHADO runs on Sun Sparcstations and HP700 workstations. (From
$30,000–available now.) GenRad, Inc., Concord, MA Raymond McNulty
