Software simulates digital comm systems
When configured with Release 2.0 of the HP 85170A system model library,
the HP RF Design System and HP Microwave Design System software packages
allow the simulation of digital communications systems. The software's
capabilities include eye-diagram plots, constellation plots, vector
diagrams, noise analysis of nonlinear systems, and calculation of bit
error rate. HP 85170A Release 2.0 includes behavioral models for digital
communication sources such as pi/4 DQPSK, 0.3 GMSK, and QPSK. Other models
include a pseudo-random bit-sequence source, square-root raised cosine
filters, Gaussian filters, multipath fading model, log amplifiers, and
frequency multipliers. The software runs on all popular workstations.
(When configured with HP 85170A Release 2.0, the HP RF Design System and
HP Microwave Design System are from $33,000 and $38,500, respectively.)
