Ethernet and fax cards expand PCMCIA family

As part of the manufacturer's line of PCMCIA products, the Ethernet LAN
card and the Fax 9600 card provide for LAN and 9,600-bit/s fax
requirements, respectively. The Ethernet card has detachable line adapter
modules for multiple media attachments that include 10Base-T and 10Base2
network media. Compatible operating systems include Novell NetWare, LAN
Manager, and Banyan. Based on the company's 89C124FX fax modem chipset,
the fax card supports Group 3 fax, CCITT V.22bis, V.22, V.21, and Bell 212
and 103 connectivity standards. Other features of the Fax 9600 include
CCITT V.42 error correction and V.42bis data compression, MNP5 data
compression, and ring detect notification. A detachable line adapter
module incorporates country-specific telephone interface circuitry.
