Dc supplies meet high-performance needs
The HP 6680A and HP6681A are programmable power supplies that output 5 V
at 875 A and 8 V at 580 A, respectively. They perform like linear supplies
but use switching circuitry to save space. They exhibit a low normal-mode
noise voltage of 10 mVp-p and common-mode noise current of less than 9
mAp-p. An active down-programmer circuit discharges the supplies' output
quickly, even under no-load conditions. The supplies have built-in
voltage and current programmers, and a built-in voltmeter and current
shunt. A serial link feature enables up to 16 supplies to share one HP-IB
address. (Either supply, $9,500 each–8 weeks ARO.) Hewlett Packard Co.
