Ultraviolet mercury lamp is miniature
The CP Series of ultraviolet, mercury-based lamps have an overall length
of 1.85 in., claimed by the company to be the smallest available. The
lighted length is 0.20 in. Together with the manufacturer's power supply,
the combination can fit in an area equivalent to a 9-V battery. The
starting and operating voltages are 570 V ac and 120 V ac, respectively,
while the operating current is 3.5 mA. The lamps emit at 253.7 nm with a
power of 40 μ W/cm
