Simulator builds 2-D and 3-D models
Metal/PLWS is a post-layout CAD product that enables designers to easily
construct 2-D and 3-D models for the company's Metal 2D/3D interconnect
simulator. It accepts scaled MCM, hybrid, and packaging layout data in
GDSII Stream, CIF, or AutoCAD DXF industry-standard formats. When layout
data is read in, the user can interactively modify display parameters like
color and display order, as well as interactively enter layer technology
information needed for simulation. Features include an interactive or
batch design rule checker, GDSII stream filters, and translator tools.
Also available is a plotter interface and Post-Script output feature. The
software runs on Sun Microsystems workstations running under Open Windows,
as well as Hewlett-Packard 400 and 700 series workstations as well as Mips
Computer workstations under X-Windows/Motif. ($5,000 for basic
