Kit eases design of motion-control systems
The MC1400 developer's kit simplifies the design of MC1400-based
motion-control systems. The kit comprises a PC-compatible board and
software to exercise the MC1400 multiaxis motion-control chipset. The
board accepts four axes of incremental encoder input with index pulse. Two
types of motor drive signals are provided; sign and magnitude outputs for
use with PWM amplifiers, and analog voltage signals for analog amplifiers.
The analog outputs can be +/-5 or +/-10 V. The software is menu-driven and
provides low-level access to chip-set functions, as well as high-level
routines for integrated functions. A software library includes routines in
C for selected chipset operations. (Kit, $1,495; chipset, $99–available
