Fuzzy engine processes rules in parallel The NLX-230 is a 40-pin
neural-network fuzzy-logic engine, with eight input and eight output pins,
all multiplexed eight ways. Three outputs and a strobe pin control
multiplexers off chip. The chip features 16 fuzzifiers and 64 rules. Rule
memory is 16 bits by 64 rules. Each output can use any or all the rules.
Fuzzifiers compute 5-bit term value of the membership function for each
input. (NLX-230, about $5 ea/large qty; development system, $395–stock.)
