Regulators offer adjustable output

A series of CMOS inverting switching voltage regulators offers adjustable
output voltage and maximum power dissipation of 500 mW. The S-8437/8438
regulators each contain a reference voltage source, a CR oscillation
circuit, a power MOSFET, and an error amplifier. The S-8437 has an output
voltage that is fixed internally at -5 V +/-3.5%. The S-8438 provides an
output voltage that can be set within the range of V_IN + |V_OUT |
20 V by mounting two external resistors in
addition to the external coil, diode, and capacitor. Maximum input voltage
is 13 V, and maximum output current is 150 mA. The devices are available
in 5-pin SOT-89 plastic packages. ($1.16 ea/1,000–stock to 12 weeks.)
