Waveform analyzer includes DSP chip

The Model 6500 universal waveform analyzer takes advantage of a 32-bit
floating-point digital signal processor slaved to its mainframe to achieve
speeds of 25 MFLOPS for real-time system processing and spectral analysis.
All mathematically intense vector calculations and many scaler
calculations are handled by the 6500's DSP subsystem. The DSP subsystem
includes a large memory for storage of both intermediate and final results
produced by the processor. The 6500 comes with an MS-DOS-compatible
40-Mbyte hard-disk drive, two RS-232 ports, and single IEEE-488 and HPGL
ports. ($11,775–4 weeks ARO.) Analogic Corp., Peabody, MA David Madsen
