STN LCD uses LED backlighting

With two rows of 16 characters each, the RCM 7033M STN LCD uses LED
backlighting to display up to 240 alphanumeric symbols, including Japanese
Kana, with a contrast ratio of 5:1. The 5 x 7 dot matrix characters are
displayed with a 40 degrees viewing angle and are driven from a 5-Vdc
power supply. The module measures 80 x 36 mm and has a display area of 61

LCD comes with touch panel

The TVM2464LTC combines an LCD with a touch panel and a graphics
microprocessor. Up to 168 LEDs and a diffuser are used to form the
backlight, which requires 350 mA of current from a 12-V power supply.
Brightness and current can be adjusted using a trim potentiometer. The
transmissive LCD uses the processor's 8-bit interface to communicate with
the host. The LCD can display up to 20 frames/s. Built-in algorithms
compute pixel coordinates when drawing vectors. Two fonts come with the
unit, with RAM available for three additional fonts. All fonts may be used

EL panel displays up to eight colors

The EL640.350-DA1 is an off-the-shelf EL panel that displays up to eight
colors with a resolution of 640 x 350 pixels. The display uses yellow EL
phosphor, with each pixel divided into two subpixels. A green filter is
placed over one subpixel, and a red filter is placed over the other. This
allows red, bright red, green, bright green, yellow, bright yellow,
orange, yellow-green, and black colors to be displayed. The EL640.350-DA1
has a viewing angle of 140 degrees, an on-brightness of 4.4 fL, and an
off-brightness of 0.04 fL. This translates to a contrast ratio of 100:1.
With control electronics included, the 9-in.-diagonal display measures 226

TFT LCD display up to 16 million colors

Capable of displaying up to 16 million colors at video speeds, the
QD-100MM TFT LCD, with its resolution of 640 x 480, is designed for
PC-based multimedia applications. Measuring 3 in. thick, the display is
compatible with the PS/2, Macintosh II/Quadra, Powerbook, Macintosh
SE/Classic/LC, Amiga, and AT&T 6300. Direct video and S-video inputs

Ac plasma display uses touchscreen interface

Designed as a low-cost input/display for factory automation and
industrial control, the FTE8050RP-003 ac plasma display has a 10-in.
-diagonal measurement and incorporates a resistive touchscreen. The
touchscreen has a 20 x 25-key touch matrix and a built-in touch detector.
The display maintains a spot brightness of 100 cd/m2 . The
display has a resolution of 640 x 400 and a dot pitch of 0.33 mm. Other
features include a contrast ratio of greater than 20:1, a viewing angle of
over 140 degrees, and an operating temperature range of 0 degrees to 50

The G1216 is a 128 x 64-pixel STN (gray mode) LCD with an operating
temperature range of -20 degrees to 70 degreesC. The display comes with
intelligent drivers and an 8-bit microprocessor interface. The module has
a 6:1 contrast, measures 75 (H) x 52.7 (V) x 6.8 (T) mm and weighs 40 g. The
viewing area and angle are 60.0 (H) x 32.5 (V) mm and 60 degrees,
respectively. Power requirements are 2 mA at 5 V, and 1.8 mA at -8 V,

The AND1741MST is a film super-twist (FSTN) graphics LCD with a
resolution of 240 x 128 pixels. The display uses a fluorescent backlight
to achieve a contrast ratio of 12:1. The dot size is 0.47 x 0.47 mm. A

Industrial EL panel has touchscreen

The TouchView 7000ST is an interactive, graphic, flat-panel display for
the industrial environment, and comes with a resistive touchscreen. The
device interfaces to a host via one of three options; serial, parallel, or
Quick Connect, which provides a direct interface through the programming
port of a PLC. The display has a 9-in. diagonal and a resolution of 640 x
400 pixels. Measuring 8.622 (H) x 10.905 (W) x 4.921 (D) in., the module
weighs 7 lb and comes with 128 Kbytes of battery-backed static RAM. The
touchscreen uses an array of 16 x 10 touch points. The operating

VGA LCD targets space-sensitive applications

The EG9013F-NZ is a formulated twisted nematic, monochrome, LCD that
comes with a CCFL sidelight and measures only 124.6 (H) x 194.8 (W) x 8
(D) mm. The viewing area measures 132 x 101 mm. The display uses the
manufacturer's chip-on-flex technology that mounts drivers on a flexible
printed circuit board.
The VGA-compatible display has a resolution of 640 x 480, a dot pitch of
0.20 x 0.20 mm, and displays both graphics and text. The device has a
contrast ratio of 6.4:1, an operating temperature range of -20 degrees to

Display offers remote option for STD 32

The ZT 1502 is an active matrix LCD with a fluorescent backlight that
offers system designers a remote graphical user interface up to 150 feet
away from an STD 32 computer. The display receives all power, video, and
touchscreen data via proprietary, noise-resistant cabling. The display
presently supports up to 16 colors at a resolution of 640 x 480, 512
colors are possible. Proprietary display drive circuitry and a remote
display extender board serialize and drive the video data differentially
over dual RG 59 coax cables, with touchscreen RS-485 data and power signals
driven over a twisted-pair cable.
Along with an active matrix LCD, an EL option, the ZT 1501 is available,
as is a less-expensive local option to position the display up to 30 feet

VF display comes with keypad and memory

Designed for operator interfacing, the model 3902-04 is a 4-line x
20-character vacuum fluorescent (VF) display. Incorporated with the
display is a standard, 33 key, sealed metal dome keypad with tactile
feedback and ESD shielding. The unit is drip proof to NEMA 12 and has an
operating temperature range of 0 degrees to 70 degreesC.
The display's blue-green characters are 5-mm high, are arranged in a 5 x
7 dot matrix, and are software-dimmable to three levels of brightness.
Along with standard ASCII, the display supports alternate European and
scientific characters. Up to 127 canned display and switch output messages

LCD character displays are low cost

The GML1610 is part of a line of low cost, reflective mode, LCD character
displays that incorporate an impact-resistant bezel, a single-sided common
circuit board, and a heat-sealed connector. The 16-character x 1-line
display has a built-in controller with ROM (for 96 ASCII characters), and
RAM (rewritable 8 characters). Also included are a cursor or display shift
capability, and a 4- or 8-bit bus interface. The operating temperature

The 2180SB is a VF display terminal that incorporates optical isolation
of all serial ports (RS-232 and RS-422), data repeating, addressing,
software-controllable display commands, and lockable front-panel setup
keys. Host ports are field-selectable for RS-232 or RS-422 data and
support full-duplex communication. Flashing, scrolling, relay control, and
display font selection (English, European, Katakana) are
software-controllable through serially transmitted display scripts.

LCD forms keycap of SPST switch

Comprising a low-power graphic STN LCD on an SPST tactile momentary
switch, the PDS 864 is a rugged programmable display switch for harsh
environments. The device also contains a custom IC and a choice of
multicolor backlighting, all in a 1 1/2-in.2 area. The
display has a resolution of 24 x 36 pixels and measures 0.592 x 0.492 in.

Triple-STN LCD comes with PC on rear panel

The DisplayPac-2000 is a triple-STN (TSTN) transmissive LCD that comes
with an 80286-based PC on the rear panel and a touchscreen option up

LED display gives control-system status

The HiQTEE series of tricolor LED bar displays give system status
information in standalone and distributed control system applications. The
dumb version accepts information via a modified serial port and displays
it. The smart version includes an 8-bit microcontroller and EIA232C/485
I/O ports. The smart version measures and controls analog signals and
transmit them to a host system. It also has an analog multiplexer for up
to three analog signals, enabling the display of any three variables. The
display comprises a 51-segment bargraph plus a four character, 7-segment
display. The LEDs are ASCII-programmable and color, brightness, and

By incorporating a split-screen drive method that allows a refresh rate of
120 Hz, the LJ64H053 Hi-Bright EL display achieves a luminance of 150

Plasma displays use smart interface

As part of the company's Series PD dot matrix plasma displays, the
PD02-D104 uses an intelligent interface that obviates the need for the
potential user to learn how to drive, develop circuitry, or write software
to integrate the display. With a viewing area of 5.1 x 2.54 in., the
display has a resolution of 128 x 64 pixels with 0.040 x 0.040-in.
