Designed for point-of-sale applications, the Display 2 x 20 is a vacuum
fluorescent display with two rows of 20 11-mm-high characters. The standalone
device is powered by a 120-Vac adapter and communicates via an RS-232
interface.
The display's “pass-thru” capability allows the it to share and RS-232 port
with another device. Pass-thru also allows selected data to be displayed at
appropriate times or passed through to other devices, such as a printer,
without being displayed. Software-selectable modes include text, scroll for up
to 50 characters continuous, numeric, and time (12- or 24-hour format).
