insulation-displacement design
A 68-position pin-and-socket SCSI connector, the CA-68MDP-F has a proprietary
insulation-displacement design with a two-piece grooved cover and retainer
for reliable termination. The connector also has a contact contour that
improves the dielectric between the contact and adjacent conductor.
To protect the integrity of the connection, the part's contacts are
first loaded into the retainer, then secured onto the base. The cable is
then inserted between the connector's convoluted cover and retainer prior
to termination, thereby preventing misalignment and cable-positioning issues.
