An evaluation copy of the Active VHDL programmable-logic design software
is available free on CD-ROM. The Windows-based software requires no license
file or hardware keylock and is fully functional. However, the tool does
not allow printing, and simulations are limited to 1 ms.

Active VHDL includes a VHDL editor, automatic test-bench generation,
a VHDL design manager, and a VHDL simulator. It interfaces to all leading
VHDL logic-synthesis tools and handles all FPGA and CPLD devices supported
by the device vendor's place-and-route tools. Users can register to receive
a copy of the software either by phone or at the company's Web site. (Free–available
