Carlo Gavazzi's StarFabric Development Kit Accelerates StarFabric Product Development

Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions announces the release of its StarFabric Development Kit for designers interested in a portable tool kit for quick-to-market StarFabric application development.

The StarFabric Development Kit integrates the CP-SFX8 Fabric Card from Carlo Gavazzi’s Fabric and Connectivity Division with the Electronic Packaging Division’s 2.17 backplane and 585 Series eight-slot, portable aluminum enclosure.

The PICMG 2.17 compliant CP-SFX8 6U Fabric Card lets you implement a centralized fabric topology in a CompactPCI chassis. The fabric card’s many features include: an efficient, low (less than 3µs) latency design, eight links to the backplane with a switching bandwidth of 5 Gbps per port and 40 Gbps aggregated, two front panel links to connect to external chassis for fully redundant, fault tolerance, a PMC site that operates in monarch or non-monarch mode, and Microsoft Windows and Linux compatibility.
