World's First Digitally Programmable Capacitor Needs No External Clock

The MAX1474 is the world's first electronically programmable capacitor. It is designed to replace unreliable, mechanical inductors in common tuning circuits.

Throw Away Those Unreliable Mechanical Inductors and Replace Them with the MAX1474 in the Tiny SC70

To use the MAX1474 in your application, calibrate your system in the factory and store the number of pulses needed for the required capacitance value of your CPU memory. Then, upon power-up, the CPU need only pulse the MAX1474 the desired number of times and the capacitance value will be restored. If the system is dynamic and has the ability to retune itself, the capacitance value can easily be changed at any time by simply raising enable and once again strobing the DAT pin.
