The RFWaves reference design for wireless video monitoring system features a 2.4-GHz wireless link and a range up to 100 m for indoors and 300 m for outdoors. It uses the company's RFWaves RFW122-M-PA 1-Mbit/s DSSS half-duplex transceiver along with a power amplifier.
The RFW122-M-PA provides an output power of 25 dBm and receiver sensitivity of -75 dBm while delivering real time MPEG-4 compressed video. The system consists of a camera and display screen that are linked by a one-way video link from the camera to the display screen and by a two-way audio link between the two units. Designed and tested to coexist with 802.11b/g and Bluetooth, the system complies with FCC, ETSI, and Telec regulations. (RFW122-M-PA transceiver, $7.60 ea/10,000�available now.)
