The piano-black Sonata II PC enclosure employs an advanced chassis air duct for increased cooling of the latest CPUs and graphics cards. The air duct is rear-vented to help improve silence, and can be adjusted in three directions to position the opening directly above the CPU.
The enclosure has a single rear 120-mm fan with an adjustable three-speed switch, mounts for 120-, 92-, and 80-mm fans, and a ATX12V v2.01-compliant, SmartPower 2.0 450-W power supply, which uses two flow-through 80-mm fans for intake and exhaust. Adding to the InfraStruXture enclosure line, which integrates power, cooling, and management in a rack-optimized design, the 30-kW version incorporates polymer-electrolyte-membrane fuel cells that work from bottled hydrogen for backup in high-availability operations.
The system is especially suited for small-to-medium data centers with limitations imposed by building codes, emission requirements, or physical constraints. The 42U racks measure 81.50 (H) x 24.00 (W) x 35.50 (D) in., and typical configurations range from 6 to 11 racks that provide from 252U to 462U of free rack space and n+1 redundancy. The VersaFlex desktop and rack-mount enclosure series is designed to let user easily swap out the front trim with 19-in. rack handles without having to disassemble the case.
