The SiI4723 provides 3Gb/s SATA performance over the single host SATA link as well as the dual device SATA links, and can be configured for internal or external (eSATA) applications.
Said to be the first device to combine 3-Gbit/s SATA/eSATA ports with hardware RAID, the SiI4723 storage processor turns a single SATA port into dual ports with RAID 0 fast or RAID 1 redundant capability.
