Digital audio receiver cuts jitter

The DIR9001 24-bit 96-kHz digital audio interface receiver is said to provide the industry’s best jitter performance of as low as 50 ps rms. The chip allows control of all functionality through hardware control pins, eliminating the need for an external microcontroller.

The 28-pin TSSOP-packaged device integrates a high-performance PLL to improve jitter and remove the need for an external clock source. It operates from 40 to 85C and supports inputs from 28 to 108 kHz for stereo digital interfaces including S/PDIF, EIAJ CP-1201, IEC60958, and AES/EBU. ($1.95 ea/1,000 available now.)
