Current-sense resistors reduce hot spots

Devices improve sensing stability over laser-trimming processes for high-current apps

By adjusting the alloys used to make the resistance element, the CSNL series metal-element current-sense resistors can reduce hot spots by removing the laser trim in high-current applications. This enhances the effective current path to virtually the entire resistor width, allowing the resistor to run cooler at various current levels.

The resistors offer a 2-W power rating, tolerances down to 1%, and values from 0.001 to 0.007 Ω from a 2512 case size. Case sizes of 2010 and 1206 chip sizes are also under development. ($0.15 to $0.20 ea/full reel qty—6 to 8 weeks ARO.)
