The new version of Processor Designer provides a full platform design tool with increased support for next-generation VLIW processors. The tool can ensure that the targeted processing power is achieved and the interconnect infrastructure is available to feed data into the processor at an acceptable rate — the latter of which can only be done in the platform context.
The tool is especially useful for developing high-end video processing and next-generation wireless baseband-processing designs. Users can also make adjustments for late changes in the standards and provide devices that can be programmed for different standards. ($150,000 to $300,000 — available now.)
