PCIe switches provide
next-gen features
The PEX 8525, PEX 8533, and PEX 8547 next-generation PCI Express switches feature dynamic memory allocation, large packet memory, and a non-blocking internal switch architecture that allows a full line-rate on all ports. The chips have the industries lowest power consumption at 100 mW per lane and provide 24 lanes/5 ports, 32 lanes/6 ports, and 48 lanes/3 ports, respectively.
Power can be further reduced through the programmable SerDes, which can be turned off when unused and the switches also feature the latest cut-thru architecture, which can drop latency down to 110 ns in both host centric and peer-to-peer modes. Dual-host designs are implemented via a standard PCIe crosslink feature and a moveable upstream port. (PEX 8525, $35; PEX 8533, $45; PEX 8547, $55 ea/prod qty.available now.)
