The quad-core Xeon L5320 and L5310 server processors are said to represent a nearly 10-fold power consumption improvement in less than two years. The 50-W processors operate at 1.86 and 1.60 GHz, respectively.
The ICs feature an 8-Mbyte cache for faster memory data communication, run on dedicated 1,066-MHz front side buses and are drop-in compatible with the existing dual-core and quad-core Xeon processor families. ($519 and $455 ea/1,000�available now.)
