X2 fiber-optic module delivers 10-Gbit data

The HFBR-707X2DEM X2 10-GbE LRM fiber-optic module reliably delivers 10-Gbit data rates using multimode fiber. It supports link lengths of at least 220 m on OM1, OM2, and OM3 MMF, provides a Digital Optical Monitoring and MDIO management interface that enables monitoring of operational characteristics.

The X2 module is physically shorter than a XEMPAK module, mounts on the top side of a PCB, and has the same electrical interface. The module has a four-wide XAUI interface, consumes less than 4 W, operates at 0 to 70C, and is front-panel hot pluggable. ($500 ea/large qty—available now.)
