The Series 60A three-in-one multifunction joystick integrates a joystick, optical encoder, and pushbutton onto a single shaft. In a typical application, the joystick lets users manipulate the cursor left, right, up and down; the encoder facilitates sequential scrolling across complex menus; and the pushbutton performs on-screen menu selection.

The rugged 1-in.-diameter device, whose encoder provides an optically coupled 2-bit digital output, has a life of 106 rotational cycles. The 5-V 100-mW-max unit is available with 20 (18°) detent positions per rotation and can be factory customized. ($26.96 ea/1,000—available now.)
