Splice connector simplifies assembly, maintenance
Connector’s novel unisex design withstands vibration and mates without force or performance loss
Sporting a unisex-style self-locking disconnect that mates to itself, the patent-pending Flat-Snap splice connector enables wires to be connected to each other without force (crimping) or performance degradation and withstands harsh environments where vibration and shock are a factor. The connector prevents accidental disconnection caused by pulling on the spliced wire, and can simplify assembly, inventory, and repairs in applications such as stereo equipment, medical devices, and automotive electronics.
To terminate them, the connectors are overlaid on each other and pulled together until they are mated. Reversing the process disconnects the connector.
Available in 0.016-in.-thick brass, the connector can be modified to special OEM requirements. Applications include replacements for permanent wire splices; alternatives to male blades on terminal blocks, switches, and PC boards; and other areas where secure connections are desirable. (From $25 to $400 ea/1,000—available now.)
