The AK4646 audio codec features a microphone amplifier, an ALC circuits, a noise filter, digital volume control for recording/playback, and a 400-mW speaker amplifier. Sampling rates range from 7.35 to 48 kHz and operating voltages from 2.2 to 3.6 V.
Housed in a 32-pin QFN package, the AK4646 is equipped with a power-supply management function for control of each circuit block, and a three-wire microcontroller interface. A separate 1.6-V digital power supply enables direct interface with other small geometry processors, such as a low-power CPU. ($1.91 ea/10,000—available now.)
