Automotive graphics IC integrates full solution
The TX4964FG graphics controller SoC drives and manages small TFT LCD displays increasingly found in automobile instrument clusters, including back-up camera displays. The 176-pin QFP-packaged device provides up to VGA resolution, has 4 Mbytes of DRAM, and integrates a CPU, hardware-graphics engine, LCD controller, digital-camera interface, and frame-buffer memory.
The chip’s MIPS-based 64-bit CPU core operates at 120 MHz and has 8-Kbyte data and instruction caches. The IC takes about 1 W, operates from -40° to 85°C, and features a high-performance quad-bus structure with separate buses for the CPU, video, graphics, and graphics-acceleration functions.
