32-bit MCU raises speed, lowers price

The STR910FA 32-bit microcontroller features an enhanced memory accelerator that boosts performance by allowing flash memory to stream instructions more freely to the ARM966E core. The MCU series offers up to 544 Kbytes of flash and up to 96 Kbytes of SRAM with a 10/100 Ethernet MAC, USB, CAN, three UARTs/IrDAs, two SPI and two I2C ports, an eight- channel 0.7-µs 10-bit A/D converter, four 16-bit timers, and a three-phase ac motor-control unit.

Benchmark test scores for the STR910FA registered an average of 25% better than those of the STR910F. Operating at -40 to +85C, the IC has complete supervisor functions, a full-featured real-time clock, an external memory interface, an ETM9 debug and trace interface, and up to 80 5-V-tolerant I/Os.
