DACs are industry’s smallest with internal reference
12-, 10-, and 8-bit parts fit in SC70 packagesreducing board space by 50% over similar devices
Housed in SC70 packages, the 12-, 10-, and 8-bit LTC2630 family of voltage output D/A converters are offered as the smallest of their kind with an internal referencereducing board space by nearly 50% over the competition. The family offers the choice of an internal 2.5- or 4.096-V 10-ppm/°C full-scale reference and draws only 160 µA of supply current at 3 V and 180 µA at 5 V.
These single-voltage-output DACs achieve 12-bit dc performance of ±1-LSB max integral nonlinearity error. Communicating via a three-wire SPI-compatible serial interface at clock rates of up to 50 MHz, the DAC output settles for a half-scale step in less than 5 µs.
Operating from a single 2.7 to 5.5-V supply, the output can swing to the internal reference voltage or go rail to rail to the supply voltage. The DAC outputs can also power up to zero-scale or mid-scale. The device is ideal for under-the-hood automotive voltage adjustment, as it is guaranteed for operation over the H-grade temperature range (40 to 125C), in addition to the I grade (40 to 85C) and C-grade (0 to 70C) ranges.
