With a 3-mm external diameter and 8-mm length,the Smoovy Series 0308 brushless dc motor is presented as theindustry’s smallest. Despite its small size—and0.33-g weight—the motor achieves a continuous outputtorque up to 0.014 mNm at speeds up to 15,000 rpm.

The motor uses the “SystemFaulhaber” skewed winding in combination with a rotormade of Neodymium rare-earth magnets to provide cog-free motion andthe bearing system is composed of jewel bearings. Due to theirelectronic commutation, the service life of these motors is onlylimited by the bearings.
