The LTC3538 synchronous buck-boost converter delivers a regulated output voltage at up to 800 mA of continuous current with an input voltage above, below or equal to the output. Its input range of 2.4 to 5.5 V and output range of 1.5 to 5.25 makes it ideal for single cell li-ion/polymer applications.
Features include a fixed switching frequency of 1 MHz, efficiencies up to 96%, a quiescent current of 35 µA, and a shutdown current of less than 1 µA. Other features include soft-start, current limiting, thermal shutdown and output disconnect in shutdown. ($2.65 ea/1,000—available now.)
