The bq243xx family of battery charger front-end ICs protects a system from input overvoltage, overcurrent and battery overvoltage conditions, and has a 30-V maximum input voltage.
pspo16_oct2007
The bq24316 supports up to 6.8-V input overvoltage protection while the bq24314 threshold is 5.85 V. The bq24314 also offers a second level of protection that helps monitor the battery’s voltage, and if an overvoltage is detected, interrupts the input-charging source. The family includes an integrated power FET and current sensor that supports up to 1.5-A input current and less than 1-µs response time against input overvoltage.
