The MAX5952 quad power-sourcing-equipment (PSE) controller enables high-power (PoE+) and IEEE 802.3af-compliant power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications. It allows multiport high-power PoE+ systems to deliver up to 45 W of power over the standard Ethernet cable to power devices such as IP phones, wireless LAN access nodes, and IP cameras.
The PSE operates from 32 to 60 V, and supports 802.3af-powered-device (PD) discovery and classification events. It also supports both dc and ac load-disconnect detection methods. (From $6.33 each/1,000, available now.)
