Spectrum analyzer checks wireless devices

Available in two models, the FSG8 (9 kHz to 8 GHz) and the FSG13 (9 kHz to 13.6 GHz), the FSG spectrum analyzer allows measurements compliant with GSM, WCDMA, CDMA20001xRTT, TD-SCDMA, HSPA, Bluetooth, IEEE 802.11a/b/g, and fixed and mobile WiMAX at the press of a button.

The Windows XP-based instrument has a 4-Msample I/Q memory and hardware resamplers. RF performance includes a dynamic range of 170 dB from the instrument’s 1-dB compression point to its displayed average noise level of -145 dBm (10 Hz). Specs include phase noise with a 640-MHz carrier frequency of 120 dBc/Hz (10-kHz offset) and −138 dBc/Hz (1-MHz offset), RF output of 25 dBm, and linearity error of less than 0.1 dB.
