TVS diode array defends low-voltage transceivers

Protects low-voltage transceivers from lightning surges in Ethernet applications

Part of the company’s RailClamp TVS diode array platform, the RClamp2504N is billed as the first 2.5-V protection device designed for lightning surge protection of low-voltage transceivers in Ethernet and high-speed digital applications. The four-line device provides a 2-pF typ line-to-line capacitance, allowing it to operate with virtually no insertion loss at speeds up to 2 GHz—giving designers a solution with near electrical transparency that helps meet strict GbE signal-integrity standards.

The protection device meets IEC 61000-4-x protection standards for EFT, ESD, and lightning surge. RoHS- and WEEE-compliant, the Pb-free device is housed in a 2.6 x 2.6 x 0.6-mm SLP package.

The RClamp2504N features the company’s proprietary Enhanced Punch-through Diode process technology that enables low standoff voltages while exhibiting lower leakage currents and lower capacitance over traditional silicon avalanche diode processes. ($0.49 ea/1,000—available now.)
